Hokuyo's parallel optical data transmission products provide a short range wireless transfer of data communication through a modulated infrared light beam. Unlike RF-based communication, the modulated signal of these transceivers is highly immune to noise interference. These transceivers are used in pairs and feature half-duplex bidirectional transmission. Application in the factory automation and material handling industries include overhead monorail systems, automated guided vehicles (AGV), automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), material transfer stations and other mobile transport units.
